Delivering clinical excellence and operational safety to the UK’s High and Medium Secure Units. Trusted by Broadmoor Hospital.

At MARR Optics, we do not provide a "one-size-fits-all" service. We specialise in the unique clinical and security challenges of forensic environments.

Standard domiciliary opticians often struggle with the rigid protocols of secure units. Our "Forensic-First" model is different. As the trusted providers for Broadmoor Hospital (West London NHS Trust), we have developed a service that prioritises safety alongside sight.

We understand that in your environment, a lost tool is a critical incident. That is why our service is built on:

Strict Security Protocols: Comprehensive "Count-in/Count-out" tool control and prohibited item management to ensure total operational safety.

Adaptive Mobile Clinics: We operate a flexible service. We can utilise your existing on-site clinical suites (as we do at Broadmoor) OR deploy our fully portable 'pop-up' clinics for units without dedicated infrastructure. We ensure continuity of care regardless of your facilities.

Forensic Dispensing: We supply specialist frames and cases designed for secure settings (including metal-free and anti-ligature options) to reduce self-harm and security risks.

We are currently expanding our provision to support additional High and Medium Secure units.

CLINICAL GOVERNANCE & TEAM

Director-Led Oversight, Consistent Delivery.

Our service operates under a robust clinical governance framework led by our founding Directors. While we operate a dedicated team of specialist optometrists to ensure capacity across the UK, every clinic is managed according to the MARR Optics Standard.

Consistency of Care: We do not use "revolving door" agency staff. We deploy dedicated Associate Optometrists to specific units, ensuring patients see familiar faces. This builds trust and improves examination success rates.

Director Oversight: All clinical record-keeping and dispensing protocols are audited by our Clinical Directors to ensure strict adherence to Trust guidelines.

Specialist Training: Every member of our team—whether Director or Associate—undergoes specific induction for working in secure forensic environments.
